Sergio Cerqueira is a highly skilled Clinical Physiologist in Neurophysiology with extensive experience in neurodiagnostics and service management across both the NHS and the private sector. He currently serves as Clinical Service Manager for Neurophysiology at East Surrey Hospital (Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust), alongside freelance clinical physiology work across several NHS and private hospitals, including BMI Mount Alvernia Hospital, Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Wimbledon Neurocare. At The Vesey, Sergio carries out every EEG, nerve conduction study and evoked potential investigation onsite, using portable neurodiagnostic equipment. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Neurophysiology and has a special interest in epilepsy, evoked potentials and the use of technology in healthcare — including developing a standardised protocol for intermittent photic stimulation during routine EEG, adopted across neurophysiology departments in the South West London and Surrey region.

What to expect
Sergio carries out your investigation onsite using portable neurodiagnostic equipment, in a calm, unhurried appointment. He'll talk you through what's happening at each step, and every recording is carried out to the same standard as an NHS neurophysiology department.
EEG and evoked potential recordings are then reviewed and reported by a Consultant Neurophysiologist; nerve conduction studies are a physiologist-led service, with reports reviewed and issued by a Band 8 Clinical Physiologist in Neurophysiology. Your report is sent to your referring clinician, who will discuss the results with you.
