Dr Sunil Nadar
Dr Sunil Nadar is a Consultant Cardiologist and Clinical Lead for Cardiology at Russells Hall Hospital, part of The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, where he leads the cardiology service. He is a fully trained interventional cardiologist and sees private patients at The Vesey in Sutton Coldfield. His practice covers general cardiology, coronary artery disease and coronary intervention, with a particular long-standing focus on hypertension and preventive cardiology — assessing and reducing cardiovascular risk before it becomes disease. He sees patients with high blood pressure, chest pain, palpitations and breathlessness, as well as those with a family history of heart disease who want their risk properly assessed. Dr Nadar is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Human Hypertension, and is co-author of Hypertension, published by Oxford University Press. He has previously held an honorary senior lectureship at the University of Birmingham, and practised at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital in Oman and at the Heart of England NHS Trust. He holds MBBS, MD, FRCP and CCT, and is a Fellow of both the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and the American College of Cardiology (FACC).

What to expect
Your appointment starts with a conversation — your symptoms, your history, and what matters to you about sorting it out. Bring a list of any medication you take, and any recent test results or letters from other clinicians if you have them.
You will leave knowing what Sunil thinks is going on, what — if anything — needs investigating, and what happens next. If you need tests, imaging or a follow-up, we will arrange it before you leave, and write to your GP if you would like us to.
Booking and referrals
Appointments are arranged by enquiry — get in touch and we will find you a slot. You do not need a GP referral for a self-pay appointment. If you are using private medical insurance, your insurer will usually ask for a referral first — see how insurance works at The Vesey. Fees for every service are on our price list, and consultant fees are set out on our consultant fees page.
