A Virtual GP appointment at The Vesey is a 15-minute video consultation with a private, GMC-registered GP for £25, our opening offer. You book online, join by a secure link in your browser, and the GP can issue a private prescription, a fit note or a referral letter if it is clinically appropriate. The Vesey is registered with the Care Quality Commission. On 26 September 2026 it was the lowest published price of the 12 UK online GP services compared below.
What can a virtual GP help with?
Most everyday GP problems can be sorted by video. If you are not sure, book anyway: if your GP decides you need to be examined, they will tell you where to go next.
Infections & minor illness
Urine, chest, ear, throat and skin infections; coughs, colds and stomach bugs.
Prescriptions
New prescriptions for common conditions, repeat prescription reviews and medication questions.
Fit notes & referral letters
A fit note (Med3) for work or a referral letter to a specialist, where clinically appropriate.
Mental health
Low mood, anxiety, stress and poor sleep, with a plan, medication where appropriate, or a referral to talking therapy.
Long-term conditions
Blood pressure, thyroid, type 2 diabetes and asthma reviews when your tests are up to date.
Results & blood tests
Go through blood test results, or plan the tests you need; we arrange blood tests at partner clinics across the UK & Ireland.
When a video appointment is not right
- Chest pain, severe breathlessness, signs of a stroke or any emergency: call 999.
- A child under two with a fever, or severe abdominal pain: they need to be seen in person.
- Anything that needs an examination, such as a lump or a suspected fracture.
- Controlled drugs (Schedule 2 and 3) are not started by video.

If clinically appropriate: a private prescription sent to a UK pharmacy of your choice, a fit note or a referral letter. With your consent, a summary goes to your NHS GP.

How £25 compares with other UK online GP services
Prices as published on each provider’s own website on , for a one-off self-pay video or phone GP appointment. Providers change their prices; the link on each name goes to the page we read. Appointment length is as the provider states it.
An NHS online consultation is free, but it usually starts with a form and a wait for a reply or a call back, and not every practice offers video. Insurer-run digital GP services are included with a policy rather than sold per appointment, so they are not listed. Medicine on a private prescription is paid to the pharmacy with every provider here, including us.

A Virtual GP appointment is with one of The Vesey’s own GPs, the same doctors who see patients at our Sutton Coldfield clinic. Every one is registered with the General Medical Council; the number beside each name is theirs to check on the GMC register.

Before your appointment
Fifteen minutes goes further when you have these ready.
- Your medicines: names and doses, including anything over the counter. A photo of the packets works.
- Recent results or letters: blood tests, scans or specialist letters you want to discuss.
- A short timeline: when it started, what has changed, what makes it better or worse.
- Photos for skin problems: taken in good daylight before the call.
- Your pharmacy: the name and town, in case you need a prescription.
- A quiet, private space with a stable connection. Test your camera and microphone first.
Need a specialist rather than a GP?
