How long does an HGV or Group 2 medical take? +
A standard DVLA Group 2 medical (HGV, PCV, taxi) takes approximately 45 minutes. We send a completed D4 form directly to DVLA or provide it to you on the day.
What should I bring to my occupational medical? +
Bring photo ID, your glasses or contact lenses if you wear them, a list of current medications, and any relevant medical letters. For seafarer ENG1 bring your discharge book if available.
Can The Vesey do night-worker health assessments? +
Yes. The Working Time Regulations 1998 require employers to offer night workers a free health assessment. We provide structured assessment, a fit-for-night-work certificate and onward referral where a health issue is identified.
What happens if I am found unfit at my occupational medical? +
We provide a written report explaining the finding. Where a condition is treatable — such as uncontrolled hypertension — we initiate investigation and management, and re-assess once the condition is controlled. We always explain the next steps clearly.
