Private Hysterectomy in Sutton Coldfield
Laparoscopic or open hysterectomy for fibroids, heavy bleeding, endometriosis and prolapse. Published price from £6,500. Same-week consultant. CQC-regulated.
What is hysterectomy?
Hysterectomy — surgical removal of the uterus — is the definitive treatment for a range of gynaecological conditions including fibroids, endometriosis, heavy bleeding unresponsive to other treatments, uterine prolapse, and certain gynaecological cancers.
Modern hysterectomy is most commonly performed laparoscopically (total laparoscopic hysterectomy — TLH) through small keyhole incisions, avoiding the need for a large abdominal cut and significantly reducing recovery time. Open (abdominal) hysterectomy remains appropriate in some cases, particularly for larger uteri or complex pelvic disease.
The ovaries may be preserved (hysterectomy alone) or removed (hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy) depending on the indication and the patient's age and preferences.
