Track my sample
Follow your blood sample's journey — from the moment it's taken, to the lab, to your GP's desk, to your inbox. Like tracking a parcel, but for the wait that actually matters.
Where your sample is right now
Last updated —. This page refreshes itself every couple of minutes while you have it open — no need to reload. Your results are never shown here: they arrive by email once a clinician has reviewed them.
If you're expecting results, don't worry — nothing is lost. Call us on 0121 387 3727 and we'll tell you exactly where your sample is.
The journey every sample takes
Every blood sample we take follows the same carefully tracked path. When your sample is registered, we email you a personal tracking link so you can watch it move through each step:
-
Test orderedYour test is booked and logged in our clinical system, with the exact panel your clinician requested.
-
Sample takenYour blood is drawn at the clinic by our phlebotomy team, labelled and prepared for the laboratory.
-
At the labYour sample is analysed at an accredited laboratory. This is usually the longest step.
-
Results with your GPYour results are back and a clinician is personally reviewing them — every result is checked before it's released.
-
Results sent to youYour reviewed results land in your inbox, with any comments from the reviewing GP.
When will my results arrive?
Most standard panels come back quickly, with results within 48 hours — reviewed by a clinician. Turnaround varies by test — standard panels are typically quickest, while specialised, genetic and complex tests take longer.
What happens next: once your results reach "Results sent to you", check your inbox (and spam folder) for an email from the clinic. If anything needs discussing, we'll contact you directly — and you can always call us on 0121 387 3727.
Progress, never results
This tracker deliberately shows where your sample is — never what it says. Your results, and any clinical comments, are only ever sent to you by email after review by a clinician. That means a tracking link can't reveal anything sensitive, even if it's forwarded or seen by someone else. Tracking links also expire automatically after 60 days.
A note on emergencies: The Vesey is not an emergency service. In a medical emergency, always call 999. For urgent medical advice when it's not an emergency, call NHS 111. If you feel unwell while waiting for results, don't wait for the tracker — seek medical advice.
