Private Septoplasty & Septorhinoplasty in Sutton Coldfield
Septoplasty to correct a deviated nasal septum causing breathing obstruction, snoring and recurrent sinusitis. Same-week ENT consultant. Published price from £3,500.
What is septoplasty & septorhinoplasty?
Septoplasty is a surgical procedure to straighten the nasal septum — the wall of cartilage and bone that divides the nose into two passages. A deviated septum is extremely common, often resulting from nasal trauma, and can cause significant nasal obstruction, snoring, recurrent sinusitis, nosebleeds, and disrupted sleep.
The procedure is performed through the nostrils (endonasally) and leaves no visible scars. It typically takes 30–60 minutes under general anaesthesia as a day case. Septorhinoplasty combines correction of the deviated septum with reshaping of the external nose where there is also a cosmetic concern or external nasal deformity contributing to obstruction.

What happens at The Vesey
From your first consultation to discharge — here is what to expect at every stage.
ENT consultant assessment
Nasal endoscopy to assess the degree of septal deviation, turbinate hypertrophy, and nasal valve function. Imaging may be arranged if sinusitis is also present.
Pre-operative assessment
Routine blood tests and anaesthetic review.
Septoplasty
An incision is made inside the nose. The mucosa is elevated from the cartilage and bone. Deviated portions are carefully resected or repositioned. Internal sutures close the incision. Nasal packs or splints are placed.
Recovery
Nasal packs removed at 24–48 hours. Splints removed at 1 week.
Recovery — what to expect
Bruising and swelling around the nose for 1–2 weeks. Nasal congestion for 2–4 weeks as swelling resolves. Return to desk work within 1–2 weeks. Full improvement in breathing at 4–6 weeks.
Your consultant will provide you with a personalised recovery plan at your assessment appointment, based on your individual procedure, health status, and activity requirements.
