Who it's for

A thorough whole-body review for men

Advanced GP2 sits between our Standard Screen Plus and our most comprehensive GP3 panel. It's a strong choice when you want more depth — especially on heart risk — without going all the way to GP3.

Serious about heart health

You want advanced cardiovascular markers — apolipoproteins and Lipoprotein(a) — beyond a basic cholesterol test.

Metabolic check

Glucose, HbA1c, insulin and C-peptide for a fuller view of blood sugar and insulin resistance.

Prostate awareness

A PSA prostate check as part of a proactive midlife men's health review.

Tired or run-down

Thorough iron studies, thyroid and vitamin D to investigate persistent fatigue.

Lifestyle review

Detailed liver, kidney and metabolic markers to track the impact of diet, alcohol and weight.

A detailed annual screen

You want more than the basics for your yearly check, with a clinician's interpretation.

What we check

48 markers across 8 areas of your health

Rather than testing one thing at a time, this panel screens eight key areas in depth in a single blood draw. Here's what each group can tell you.

Heart & advanced cholesterol

A full lipid profile plus apolipoproteins and Lipoprotein(a) for a deeper read on cardiovascular risk.

11 markers

Liver function

Liver enzymes and proteins can help identify or rule out strain from alcohol, medication or fatty liver.

6 markers

Kidney & salts

Kidney function (including cystatin C) plus salts, minerals and uric acid for a rounded metabolic picture.

11 markers

Thyroid

TSH, free T4 and T3 with antibodies can help spot an under- or over-active thyroid.

5 markers

Blood sugar & insulin

Glucose, HbA1c, insulin and C-peptide help identify or rule out diabetes and insulin resistance.

4 markers

Iron & full blood count

A full blood count, iron studies and vitamin D give a broad view of anaemia and nutritional status.

7 markers

Inflammation & urine

CRP and high-sensitivity CRP flag inflammation, while urinalysis screens for kidney and urinary clues.

3 markers

Prostate (PSA)

Total prostate-specific antigen can support assessment of prostate health, reviewed by a clinician.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

What is the Advanced GP2 blood test for men?
It is a comprehensive 48-marker health panel for men. Alongside the usual liver, kidney, thyroid and blood-sugar checks, it adds an in-depth cardiovascular risk profile (apolipoproteins and Lipoprotein(a)), full iron studies, inflammation markers and a PSA prostate check — giving a clinician a thorough whole-body picture from one blood draw.
How is GP2 different from Standard Screen Plus and GP3?
Standard Screen Plus (33 markers) is a broad general check. Advanced GP2 (48 markers) adds advanced cardiovascular markers, iron studies and insulin for a more thorough review. Advanced GP3 (78 markers) is our most comprehensive panel, adding immune, allergy and additional organ markers.
Does this test include a PSA prostate check?
Yes. The male panel includes Total Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), a blood marker that can support assessment of prostate health. A raised PSA is not a diagnosis on its own — a clinician reviews your result and advises on sensible next steps if needed.
Do I need to fast before this blood test?
Because this panel includes glucose, HbA1c, insulin and a detailed cholesterol profile, we usually recommend fasting for around 10–12 hours beforehand for the most accurate results. Our team will confirm any preparation when you book.
How long do results take?
We process your sample promptly and contact you as soon as your clinician-reviewed results are ready — turnaround varies by test. Every result is reviewed by a clinician, who flags anything outside the normal range with a clear explanation and guidance on sensible next steps.
Do I need a GP referral?
No referral is needed. You can book directly online or by calling 0121 387 3727. Same-week appointments are available 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm.

Understanding your Advanced GP2 Male Health results

Each result in your Advanced GP2 Male Health is reviewed by a clinician before release. Below is a plain-English guide to the key markers included in this panel.

Assesses androgenic status; low testosterone is a common and treatable cause of fatigue and reduced vitality.

PSA

Prostate cancer screening marker; used alongside digital rectal examination in appropriate clinical context.

Lipids & HbA1c

Key cardiovascular and metabolic risk markers.

Liver & Kidney Panel

Assesses organ health and identifies disease-related or medication-related changes.

Full Blood Count

Screens for anaemia and other haematological abnormalities.
