Is your thyroid behind how you feel?
One blood draw, 5 markers. Our Thyroid panel checks TSH, free T4, free T3 and thyroid antibodies — so a clinician can help identify or rule out an under- or overactive thyroid and autoimmune thyroid disease. £148 · clinician-reviewed results · CQC-regulated.
When thyroid symptoms are hard to pin down
Thyroid problems are among the most common hormonal conditions in the UK, and their symptoms are easily mistaken for something else. This panel is a sensible step if any of these sound familiar.
Tired and sluggish
Persistent fatigue, weight gain, feeling the cold or low mood that could point to an underactive thyroid.
Wired and racing
Anxiety, palpitations, weight loss, tremor or heat intolerance that may suggest an overactive thyroid.
Family history
A close relative with thyroid or autoimmune disease, which raises your own risk.
On thyroid medication
Already taking levothyroxine and wanting to check your dose is keeping levels in range.
Hair, skin or cycle changes
Unexplained hair loss, dry skin or irregular periods, all of which can have a thyroid cause.
Raised cholesterol
An underactive thyroid is a common secondary cause of high cholesterol worth ruling out.

A complete picture of thyroid function
This panel goes beyond a basic TSH-only test, measuring the active thyroid hormones and the antibodies that point to autoimmune thyroid disease. Here's what each marker can tell you.
TSH
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone is the pituitary's signal to the thyroid — the most sensitive first marker of an under- or overactive gland.
1 markerFree T4
Free thyroxine is the main hormone the thyroid releases. It helps clarify what an abnormal TSH actually means.
1 markerFree T3
Free tri-iodothyronine is the most active thyroid hormone, useful for assessing an overactive thyroid.
1 markerAnti-TPO antibody
Anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies point to autoimmune thyroid disease — the most common cause of an underactive thyroid in the UK.
1 markerAnti-thyroglobulin antibody
A second antibody that supports the picture of autoimmune thyroid conditions such as Hashimoto's and Graves' disease.
1 markerSubclinical changes
Together these markers can flag early, often pre-symptomatic thyroid changes that may simply warrant monitoring.

Understanding your Thyroid Function results
Each result in your Thyroid Function is reviewed by a clinician before release. Below is a plain-English guide to the key markers included in this panel.
TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone)
The pituitary's signal to the thyroid. A high TSH suggests the thyroid is underactive (hypothyroidism); a low TSH suggests overactivity (hyperthyroidism).
Free T4 (Thyroxine)
The main hormone produced by the thyroid. Measured alongside TSH to confirm whether the thyroid is producing enough hormone.
Free T3 (Triiodothyronine)
The active form of thyroid hormone. Checked when T4 is abnormal or when conversion problems are suspected.
Reference ranges vary between laboratories and are influenced by age, sex, and other individual factors. This information is for educational purposes only and does not replace a clinical consultation. The Vesey reviews every result before it is released to you.
