MindWell is an AI-assisted clinical service delivered under license by The Vesey Private Hospital — CQC-registered, Sutton Coldfield. A named clinician reviews your plan; you are never speaking to an unsupervised AI. CQC registration →

Reaching out for help shouldn't be the hardest part.

Anxiety and low mood are common, and asking for structured help — rather than just "pushing through" — is one of the most effective things you can do. MindWell gives you a private, guided way to start today, wherever you are with it.

How MindWell works

A risk screen runs first, every time — then a structured programme, not an open-ended chat.

Screen

PHQ-9 / GAD-7 screening plus a risk screen that always runs first and can surface crisis support immediately.

Programme

Structured, module-based: psychoeducation, thought records, behavioural activation, graded exposure, sleep, worry management.

Check-ins

Supportive, tightly bounded — no diagnosis, no medication advice, no crisis counselling by the AI. It escalates instead.

Progress

Weekly PHQ-9/GAD-7 tracking, so you and your reviewing clinician can see what's actually changing.

Step-up

The moment deterioration, risk, or no-improvement is detected, you're moved to a real BABCP-accredited therapist.

The safety net

This is the single most important part of MindWell. The risk screen and the crisis pathway are never gated behind a subscription check.

In crisis right now? Call 999, or Samaritans 116 123 (free, 24/7) — anytime, whether or not you're signed in.

What MindWell will do

  • Run a risk screen before anything else, every session
  • Surface the crisis pathway immediately if risk is flagged
  • Step you up to a real BABCP-accredited therapist when needed
  • Track your PHQ-9/GAD-7 trend so deterioration doesn't go unnoticed

What it won't do

  • Diagnose a mental health condition itself
  • Give medication advice
  • Provide crisis counselling itself — it escalates to a human instead
  • Ever gate the crisis pathway behind a subscription

Evidence you can trust

Everything you need to know

Is this instead of therapy or as well as?
MindWell follows the same structured self-help model used in NHS Talking Therapies (IAPT) — it can be a first step, run alongside therapy you're already having, or bridge the time before a referral. If your risk screen or your progress suggests you need more support, MindWell helps you step up to a real BABCP-accredited therapist, not carry on regardless.
What happens if I say I'm not coping?
The risk screen runs before anything else, every time you use MindWell, and can surface crisis support immediately. If you tell MindWell you're not coping, it always responds by pointing you to the crisis pathway — Samaritans 116 123, NHS 111 option 2, or 999 in an emergency — and flags this to a human therapist. It never tries to talk you through a crisis itself.
Is this the same as the NHS talking therapies waiting list?
No — MindWell is a separate, private £9.99/month service from The Vesey, built on the same NICE-aligned CBT model as NHS Talking Therapies. It doesn't replace an NHS referral if you'd rather use one, but it means you don't have to wait for it to start structured self-help.
