What blood tests are included in the well-person check? +
The standard panel includes: full blood count, kidney and liver function, cholesterol and triglycerides, HbA1c (diabetes screen), thyroid (TSH), vitamin D, vitamin B12, ferritin, and urinalysis. A QRISK3 cardiovascular risk score is calculated. Add-on tests include PSA (men), omega-3 index and inflammation markers.
How long does the well-person check take? +
Allow 60–75 minutes. The consultation itself is 45–60 minutes; bloods are taken at the same visit. Results are typically available within 48–72 hours, followed by a written health summary with recommendations. A brief telephone review can be arranged to discuss any abnormal results.
Do I need to fast before my well-person check? +
We recommend fasting for 10–12 hours before the appointment for accurate cholesterol, triglycerides and fasting glucose measurements. You may drink water. If fasting is not possible, please inform us when booking — we will note any non-fasting results in your report.
How often should I have a well-person check? +
Annually is our recommendation for anyone over 40 or with a positive family history of cardiovascular disease, diabetes or cancer. For low-risk individuals in their 30s, every 2–3 years is typically sufficient. After any significant lifestyle change, illness or abnormal result, a repeat check within 6 months makes sense.
