Why this package, why now

Most women have never had a health appointment that wasn't rushed. We changed that.

A standard NHS GP appointment is 9.5 minutes. Even most private GP appointments are 15–20. There’s no realistic way to discuss hormonal symptoms, fatigue, mood changes, weight, sleep, perimenopause, fertility concerns, and what your bloods mean — in that time. So we built a package that gives you 40 minutes with a female GP, after a comprehensive blood screen, with everything in front of her.

1 in 4 UK women report symptoms they can't explain — fatigue, brain fog, mood swings, weight change, low libido, irregular cycles. The vast majority have an explainable cause that shows up on the right bloods: perimenopausal hormone shifts, hormone imbalances such as PCOS, raised cholesterol, high blood sugar, anaemia, or liver, kidney and inflammatory changes. This package screens for those things and gives you a proper plan.

What's in the package

Two appointments. Everything in one place. £250 less than buying it separately.

An Essential Health Assessment alone is £99. The additional comprehensive blood screen alone is £210. A 40-minute consultation with a private GP alone is £170. Buy them separately and you pay £479. This summer you get all three for £229.

Who should book this

If any of these apply, the answers might already be in your bloods.

Many of the symptoms women tolerate as "just life" have a measurable, treatable cause. A complete blood screen plus a 40-minute female GP review is often the most useful 70 minutes you can give your health.

Unexplained fatigueAnaemia, blood sugar and liver or kidney changes often show up on a full blood screen.
Irregular or changed periodsHormones tell a clearer story than symptoms alone.
Brain fog or mood changesOften hormonal — FSH, LH and oestradiol help tell the story, rarely "just stress".
Perimenopausal symptomsFSH + LH + oestradiol clarify what stage you're at.
Weight change you can't explainBlood sugar, cholesterol and reproductive hormones — often the trigger.
Family history of breast, ovarian or hormonal conditionsA baseline screen is worth doing in your 30s & 40s.
Preferring a female clinicianDr Shanmugam offers exactly that — no need to ask.
You just want a thorough checkThe most common reason patients book.
Why £229 is exceptional value

Compare this package to standard private health screening.

Most women’s health screens give you a blood test and a 15-minute summary. Some include a basic HA. Almost none include a 40-minute female GP consultation. This summer you get all three.

★★★★★

"I’d been told for 5 years 'your bloods are fine'. The Vesey ran a proper screen and found I was anaemic with a clear hormone imbalance. A few weeks into treatment my fatigue and brain fog have lifted. I cried in the appointment because someone finally listened."

"At perimenopause and confused about whether HRT was right. The bloods clarified what was happening; the GP explained the options and didn't push anything. Calm, evidence-based, unhurried. Highly recommend."

Frequently asked questions

Everything you might be wondering, answered.

What exactly do I get for £229?

Two appointments. (1) An Essential Health Assessment with a Health Advisor (blood pressure, BMI, body composition, lifestyle review) plus an additional comprehensive 30-marker blood screen drawn at the same visit. (2) Once your bloods and report are back (typically within a week or so), a 40-minute follow-up with female GP Dr Arathi Shanmugam to walk you through every result. You also receive a written summary letter you can share with your NHS GP.

Who is Dr Arathi Shanmugam?

Dr Shanmugam is The Vesey’s newest female GP. She offers 40-minute consultations (three times the length of a standard private GP slot), with a particular interest in women’s health, hormonal health, and chronic-symptom investigation. Her style is unhurried and patient-led.

What's in the blood screen?

Thirty markers in total: cholesterol and lipids (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, cholesterol/HDL ratio), blood sugar (glucose), liver function (ALT, AST, ALP, GGT, bilirubin, albumin), kidney function and electrolytes (creatinine, eGFR, urea, sodium, potassium, chloride, phosphate), inflammation (high-sensitivity CRP), a full blood count, and reproductive and androgen hormones (FSH, LH, oestradiol, progesterone, prolactin, testosterone, SHBG and free androgen index).

How long between the two appointments?

Typically within a week or so. Bloods are processed and the written report follows once ready. We book your 40-minute follow-up with Dr Shanmugam once all your bloods and the report are back — not before — so the consultation can cover everything in one go. You can pre-book a tentative GP slot when you book your first appointment, or wait for us to call.

Do I need to fast for the blood test?

No fasting required for this panel. Take your usual medications. We do ask that you avoid heavy exercise the morning of your bloods.

What if I have a specific concern I want to discuss?

That’s exactly why this package exists. Add a note when you book, or mention it on the day — the 40-minute consultation has enough time to discuss anything from fertility planning to perimenopause to long-term contraception.

What happens if something abnormal is found?

Most findings can be managed directly by Dr Shanmugam — HRT discussion, hormone support, cholesterol and blood-sugar management, lifestyle plans. Anything that needs specialist input gets a fast-tracked referral to the relevant consultant (gynaecology, endocrinology, BMS-accredited menopause specialist, etc.).

Do I need a GP referral?

No. The Vesey is a CQC-regulated private clinic and you can book direct. If you’d like us to send a copy of the summary letter to your NHS GP, just give us their details on the day.

When is this offer available?

Until 31 August 2026. After 31 August 2026 the package reverts to standard pricing (£479+). Dr Shanmugam’s clinic is in high demand — book early to secure your preferred date.

Can I bring a friend or sister?

Absolutely. Book back-to-back slots and you both get the £229 price. We’ll line up your GP follow-ups consecutively too — many women find it’s easier to do this with someone.
