Ongoing monitoring

Tablets first — no needles, no injection technique to learn.

Online weight-loss services can feel transactional — tick some boxes, get an injection in the post. Ours is the opposite: a real GP appointment, an honest conversation about whether this is the right tool for you, and ongoing monitoring that doesn't cost extra. For most patients we now start with an oral (tablet) GLP-1 / GIP-GLP-1 option — the same class of medication as the injectable versions, taken as a pill. Most patients see meaningful results within 12 weeks.

💊
Tablet-first
Oral GLP-1 / GIP-GLP-1 medication is our lead option for most patients — no needles, no injection technique to learn.
🩹
Injectable still available
Where your GP judges an injectable more clinically appropriate for you, that option remains available with nurse-led technique support.

Your GP decides
Which option, if either, suits you is a clinical decision made at your first appointment — never a fixed menu.
1
First GP consultation — £90
30 minutes with one of our GPs. Full history, BMI, waist measurement, suitability assessment, and a clear conversation about benefits, side effects and realistic targets. If suitable, you leave with a prescription for the right option at the right starting dose.
2
Prescription if clinically appropriate
If suitable, your GP prescribes the right medication — tablet or injectable — at the right starting dose. Any medication is charged at-cost — no mark-up — and we tell you the exact price before you collect it.
3
Free ongoing monitoring
Monthly weight tracking, side-effect review, dose titration, and adjustments to your prescription — all included for the duration of treatment. You only pay for the medication, never the GP time.

Am I eligible?

You're likely eligible if at least one of the following applies:

  • BMI 30 or above, or
  • BMI 27 or above with a weight-related health condition (type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnoea, fatty liver, cardiovascular disease)

A first appointment confirms eligibility properly. If tablets aren't right for you, your GP will explain why and discuss alternatives, including the injectable option. You only pay the £90 consultation fee — not for an unused prescription.

The questions patients ask before booking.

What does the £90 first appointment include?
A 30-minute consultation with a GP covering your medical history, BMI, waist circumference, lifestyle and weight goals. The GP will assess suitability and — where clinically appropriate — issue a prescription. You leave with a clear monitoring plan.
Are these tablets or injections?
Oral (tablet) GLP-1 / GIP-GLP-1 medication is our lead option for most patients — no injection technique to learn, no needles. An injectable option remains available where your GP judges it more clinically appropriate for you. Which one, if either, is right for you is a clinical decision at your first appointment.
What does the medication cost?
Any medication prescribed is charged at-cost — no mark-up. Your GP will explain exactly what each option costs before you decide. Free ongoing monitoring is included.
What does "free monitoring" mean?
For the duration of your treatment, follow-up monitoring is included at no extra charge — weight tracking, side-effect review, dose titration, and prescription adjustments. You only pay for the medication itself.
What are the side effects?
The most common are nausea, mild stomach upset and reduced appetite — most settle within the first 2–4 weeks. Rare but important side effects (pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, hypoglycaemia in people on certain diabetes drugs) are covered fully at your first consultation, and your monthly monitoring picks up anything early.
Will you write to my NHS GP?
Yes, with your consent. We send a written summary of your treatment and prescriptions to your NHS GP so your full medical record stays joined-up.
Do I need a GP referral to book?
No. The Vesey is a CQC-regulated private clinic and you can book direct.
What if I'm already on weight-loss medication elsewhere?
Bring your prescription, current dose, weight log if you have one, and a list of any side effects. The first appointment becomes a transfer of care — we'll continue or adjust the regimen based on the GP's assessment, and your monthly monitoring fee is waived going forward.
