Ways to work with us

Referral

Refer to ophthalmology

Send patients to our consultant ophthalmology clinics through one referral form, with your partner code so the letter comes back to you.

Shared care

Pre-assessment and review

Carry out agreed pre-assessments and post-operative reviews for our patients at your practice, at an agreed fee per review.

Diagnostics

Imaging you hold

Share relevant imaging and field results with the referral so the consultant has what they need at the first appointment.

What partnering gives you

  • A clear route to a consultant. One referral form, a named team, and appointments with our consultant ophthalmologists.
  • Letters come back to you. Clinic letters and outcomes go back to the optometrist who referred, so you can keep looking after the patient.
  • Shared care, properly paid. Agreed pre-assessments and post-operative reviews are paid at the fee we agree with you.
  • Your patients stay yours. Routine eye care stays with your practice after treatment.

What we ask of a partner

  • GOC registration, and your practice’s details
  • Professional indemnity that covers the shared care you take on
  • A signed partner agreement and data sharing agreement
  • A declaration of any conflicts of interest
  • Agreement to the shared-care protocol our consultants set

How fees and your partner code work

  • Paid for the work you do. Where you deliver a service for one of our patients, we pay an agreed fee for that service through Stripe Connect. We never pay for referrals or prescriptions, and nothing about a patient’s care depends on where they were referred from.
  • Your partner code. Every approved partner gets its own code, for example VOP-4TW8RC. Put it on the referrals you send through our professional referral form, or share your own referral link, so we know who to send letters and results back to.
  • The patient chooses. Your patient decides where to be seen. We give them the information to choose, and we never pay you for the referral itself.
  • Paid securely. Fees are paid into your own Stripe account, set up through Stripe’s own onboarding, with a statement of each service paid.

Optometrists partner questions

Do you pay a fee for each referral?

No. Paying for referrals is not allowed in private healthcare, and we do not do it. We pay only for clinical services you deliver for our patients, such as an agreed post-operative review.

Which eye conditions can I refer?

Any condition our consultant ophthalmologists see. Our partnerships team will share the current clinics and referral criteria when you join.

Will I get a letter back?

Yes. Clinic letters and outcomes go to the referring optometrist when the patient agrees, which is one reason we ask for your partner code on each referral.

Can I refer without becoming a partner?

Yes. Any registered professional can use our professional referral form. Partnering adds shared care, fees and a named contact.

What does it cost to join?

Nothing. There is no joining fee.
