MRI scans are delivered offsite at Medneo's 1.5T scanner, located at the Help Harry Help Others charity site, B33 0AW in Birmingham. Your consultation and referral are handled at The Vesey in Sutton Coldfield (B75 7BU).
How much is a private MRI at The Vesey?
Single body part MRI is available from £325 — an introductory rate through our partnership with Medneo. Full body MRI is also available; call us for pricing. This compares favourably with the typical Birmingham private market price of £400–£700 per scan.
When can I get an ultrasound?
We offer same-day evening ultrasound 7 days a week at The Vesey. Most appointments are available within 3–7 days. Urgent cases (suspected DVT, testicular pain, suspected miscarriage) are triaged same-day where capacity allows.
How do I know whether I need MRI or ultrasound?
Book a free imaging consultation and we'll advise. As a rule: ultrasound is the right first-line scan for soft tissues, tendons, gallbladder, thyroid, testicular, vascular problems and pregnancy. MRI is better for deep joint structures, the spine and brain. We'll always recommend the most clinically appropriate scan rather than the most expensive one.
Will my insurance cover the scan?
Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva, WPA, Cigna and Healix routinely cover diagnostic imaging on clinical indication. Pre-authorisation is usually required — your free imaging consultation generates the documentation insurers need. We invoice insurers directly where authorised.
