Frequently asked questions
Where exactly is the MRI scanner?
The Medneo 1.5T MRI scanner is located at the Help Harry Help Others charity site, B33 0AW, Birmingham. This is an offsite location — not at The Vesey in Sutton Coldfield. We'll confirm the full address, directions and parking information when you book. Your consultation and results review take place at The Vesey (B75 7BU).
Do I need a GP referral for a private MRI?
No. Book a free imaging consultation at The Vesey. Our clinician will review your symptoms and generate your referral form for the MRI. You don't need to see your own GP before coming to us.
How much does a private MRI cost?
Single body part MRI is £325 — an introductory rate through our partnership with Medneo. This is significantly below the typical Birmingham private market price of £400–£700. Full body MRI is also available — ask for pricing at your free consultation.
How long does an MRI take?
Most single-body-part MRI scans take 30–45 minutes in the scanner. Add 10–15 minutes for check-in. MRI with contrast (gadolinium) may take slightly longer. Full body scans can take 60–90 minutes.
Is MRI safe? Will I feel anything?
MRI uses magnetic fields and radio waves — no radiation. It is safe for most people. You'll hear loud tapping and buzzing sounds during the scan (ear protection is provided). You must not have metal implants that are not MRI-compatible — we'll screen for this at your consultation. If you are claustrophobic, tell us when booking and we can advise.
When will I get my results?
A written radiologist report is typically available within 24–48 hours of your scan. We'll review the results with you and advise on next steps — at The Vesey or by phone.
