Is the test confidential?
Yes. Your results are held in your private record at The Vesey and are not shared with your NHS GP unless you ask us to.
Urine or swab?
Both work for most infections. A swab can be more sensitive for some sites. We advise which suits you when you book.
What happens if a result is positive?
A GP contacts you to explain the result and arrange treatment or onward referral, and advises on telling partners.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can book online without a referral.
Who analyses and reviews my results?
Samples are analysed by a UKAS-accredited laboratory. A GP at The Vesey reviews any result outside the normal range and can arrange a follow-up appointment to discuss it.
